GENTIL aka GT our Local Football Scout ABFC.

Football connect people from all over the world together…

Gentil or like we call him GT has been scouting Football players for us since last year. GT just scouted 18 year old Bill Isegya from Congo for  Axels and Juns U18 mens team.  We want to point out GT is doing much more than just scouting those players which often are new immigrants to Canada and have little between their hands, he is driving them back and forth for training and games and helps them also to get proper gear as shin pads, cleats etc. Amazing good spirit by GT. We wanted to know more about GT.

GT you come from Congo and how long have you lived in Canada?

Yes I’m from Congo and I been living here since 2012 in May. Actually my first favourite sport is football, I started playing football when I was 4 years old with other kids in the village.

Long story short, at the age of 8 years old something happened at home and my father wasn’t in the picture much and I had to help my mom take care of the family and looked for a job at that age so my family didn’t have much and couldn’t afford to send me to school. I didn’t start going to school until I was 15. So football is my first favourite sport and then boxing is my second favourite.

And I try to help out with those who can’t because I know what it means to start from zero and the feeling of loving something but you can’t do it because you can’t afford it. And that’s why I try and give them help that wasn’t offered to me.

What about this other nickname ?

Actually Mr. NovaScotia was given to me by one of my friends haha.

Favorite Player and team? Christiano Ronaldo and Manchester United Football Club!

Thank you GT for all the help you do for those boys.
