Miran Baram Fatah joined us summer 2019. We got a email from him that he wanted to join us for the season. And what a player we got! Honestly speaking Miran should be playing professional level. We sat down with Miran and we wanted to ask him about football and his career so far.
In 2016 he came over to visit to Toronto with his friend from Iraq where he has lived. Miran had been playing football in Iraq at professional level since he was 18. ´´I came here and found out at the Airport that the airline had lost my luggage so I had no clothes to change in Toronto. At the Hotel I stayed at the owner gave me clothes to wear as she was very helpful in this case. And it was Soccer clothes! from her son. So when we were talking her son told me he was involved in a team in CSL League in Toronto and he wanted to introduce me to them as he knew from his mom that I was a football player from Middle East. To cut a long story short the Toronto Football Club wanted me to play for them on the spot and later they got work permit for me. I will never forget the generosity from the people at the Hotel and thats basically why I am still here.
Why did you move to Halifax?
Well we knew it might be quicker to get landed status in Halifax than Toronto so me and my friend just hit the road and took the chance to see how Halifax Nova Scotia would be and I am still here !
It’s our privilege to have Miran in our Football Club, his knowledge and dedication is a good role model younger player can learn from.
